What I’ve been watching

Since finishing two very intense assignments, I’ve begun watching TV again. Here’s what I’ve been enjoying.

Giri/Haji

This has been on my watch list for forever. I decided to finally pick it up because I need my Will Sharpe fix and British show fix. I wanted a show set in England but not a sitcom or a typical Line Of Duty esc crime show. Giri/Haji was perfect.

I love seeing London (I probably won’t get sick of it) and I also love seeing Japan. It is definitely a thriller but far more funny and grounded than most British crime shows. I’m generally not into yakuza stories however this kept me hooked. I have one episode left and I’m sure it will be a corker!

Wellmania

I’m half way through this quirky show staring Celeste Barber. It’s perfectly fine. Cheesy, corny and goofy. Lighthearted. I don’t really know where it’s going. My favourite character is the best friends husband. I’m enjoying but I do find it to be shallow?

Utopia

Only one episode into this one and like Giri/Haji it’s been on my watch list for quite some time. I decided to finally pick it up again when I heard a new season is coming out very soon. Rob Sitch’s comedic timing is simply unbeatable.
